CONTEMPLATING NIGERIAS FUTURE
I took these photographs while working in Lagos, Abeokuta, and Osogbo on my documentary The Supreme Price. I photographed fleeting moments as they unfolded in maternal health clinics, prayer spaces, streets and private homes. In one room, a woman in her final trimester lies on a narrow bed during a prenatal examination, attended by a nurse. In another, a pregnant woman reclines in quiet stillness.
Throughout the series, the future appears not as an idea but as a physical presence - carried within the body, contemplated in moments of waiting, and shaped through acts of care. Nigeria’s future is not abstract; it is embodied.
